You can create custom keyboard shortcuts to help you perform your tasks more efficiently. You can assign new keyboard shortcuts to commands. You can also delete existing keyboard shortcutseither default shortcuts or ones you have created.

To create a keyboard shortcut

Step 1.  On the Tools menu, click Customize.
 
Step 2.  Click the Keyboard tab.
 
Step 3.  Click the category that contains the command you want to create a shortcut for.
 
Step 4.  Click the command you want to create a shortcut for.
 
Step 5.  With the insertion point in the Press New Shortcut Key field, type the shortcut you want to assign to the highlighted command.
 
Step 6.  Click Assign.
 
You can assign more than one keyboard shortcut to the same command.

When you create shortcuts, CTRL is the default accelerator key. It is automatically assigned to   a single keystroke in the Press New Shortcut Key field. To use a different accelerator key (for example, ALT), type the complete shortcut (for example, ALT+K) in the Press New Shortcut Key field.

To remove a keyboard shortcut

Step 1.  On the Tools menu, click Customize.
 
Step 2.  Click the Keyboard tab.
 
Step 3.  Click the category that contains the command you want to remove a shortcut for.
 
Step 4.  Click the command you want to remove a shortcut for.
 
Step 5.  Select the shortcut you want to remove.
 
Step 6.  Click Remove.
